DIY Sports Themed Picture Frame

Step by Step Instructions

I don't have boys, but I do have a whole lot of nephews! My house is full of glitter and dolls, so I thought I would change it up and make a sports themed craft since they are all obsessed! This picture frame takes several supplies, but is super fun and easy to make!

Here are the steps to create your own Sports Themed Picture Frame:

FOR THIS PROJECT YOU WILL NEED:

Scrapbook paper

Additional wood add-ons

Hot glue gun

Glue stick

Craft paint

Paintbrush

Scissors

X-Acto knife

STEP 1: PAINT FRAME

I purchased this plain wood frame from Amazon. Be sure to first remove the glass and backing. Paint the inner and outer edge of your frame...basically anything that will not be covered with your scrapbook paper. Let dry.

STEP 2: CUT SCRAPBOOK PAPER

Once your paint is dry, lay the scrapbook paper face down, then put the frame on top and trace around it. Cut it out.

Next, do the same for the inside. You may need to use an X-Acto knife to get a close cut.

STEP 3: GLUE PAPER

Use a glue stick or the Mod Podge to glue the paper to your frame. DO NOT use bottled glue such as Elmer's unless you use a paintbrush to smooth out the glue evenly before sticking your paper down. Let the glue dry completely.

STEP 4: SEAL PAPER

Use the Mod Podge to apply an even coat of sealer on top of the paper and over the edges of the frame. This will seal the paper to the frame so the edges will not peel up. Let dry for at least one hour before moving on to the final step.

STEP 5: ATTACH WOOD LETTERS

If you wish, attach any additional wood embellishments on top of the scrapbook paper. I used my hot glue gun to secure the wood.

Add the glass back in and pop a picture in the frame and you're good to go!
