An Easy and Healthy Recipe Your Kids Will Love!
I don't know about your kids, but mine live off of popsicles in the summer. Actually, anytime the temperature rises above 50 degrees, they think that calls for one lol! But, SUGAR! Most are loaded with it, so I've come up with a healthy alternative your kids will love that you don't have to feel guilty about!
Here are the ingredients and steps to create your own healthy Kool-Aid Fruit Popsicles:
Unsweetened Kool-Aid packets
Fruit juice (optional)
Truvia sweetener (can also use sugar)
STEP 1: MIX KOOL-AID
Put a little hot water into your pitcher and dump in the Kool-Aid packet...stir. The hot water will help the Kool-Aid dissolve better. Add the rest of the required amount of water and stir.
You can also add in fruit juice to replace part or all of the water as an alternative option. The second photo has half fruit juice/half water mixed with the Kool-Aid.
STEP 2: POUR KOOL-AID INTO MOLDS
Once your mixture is complete, pour the liquid into the popsicle molds. Leave 1/2-1 inch of space at the top to add in the fruit.
STEP 3: CUT FRUIT
Wash your selected fresh fruit. Cut up the fruit into very small pieces.
STEP 4: ADD FRUIT
Add the chopped fruit to the liquid in the molds.
STEP 5: ADD TOPS & FREEZE
Add the tops to the molds and place in the freezer. Let freeze for at least 2 hours before removing.
NOTE: When you remove the popsicles, you may need to run a little warm water on the outside of the mold to release the popsicle.
